Fifty years ago in the Bordeaux region of France, Dr. Jacques Masquelier made one of the most significant discoveries in nutritional science.

Masquelier's® Original OPCs are twenty times more powerful than vitamin C and fifty times more powerful than vitamin E in their ability to scavenge free radicals. OPCs are able to "donate" electrons to unstable free radicals and to neutralize them without the danger of becoming unstable themselves.

Collagen, the protein constituent of connective tissue, exists throughout the body in pairs of strands. Hydrogen bridges connect these strands and give collagen its strength. 50 years of research
Dr. Jacques Masquelier, a research scientist and professor emeritus of the Medical Faculty of the University of Bordeaux, in France, is the world's leading authority on oligomeric proanthocyanidins. He was the first person to discover and isolate OPCs from pine bark (Pycnogenol) and then from the seeds of Semillon Bordeaux grapes, today known as Masquelier's® Original OPCs. Over time he developed the standardized extraction of OPCs, and received a patent for this exclusive process.
For over fifty years, Dr. Masquelier and his team of scientists have conducted research, tests and clinical trials of OPCs that are recognized by the medical community. The French Ministry of Health approves the use of Masquelier's® Original OPCs in three prescription drugs to treat vascular health. To ensure highest quality, the Ministry regulates OPC production and designates specific vineyards to produce the grapes.
